There are many types of documents that find themselves in other countries apart from their country of origin. These include:
- contracts for overseas companies
- patents for overseas countries’ products
- warranties for products sold out of country of origin
- terms and conditions for rental agreements including cars and accommodation
- affidavits for court cases
- degrees and diplomas
- birth certificates
- marriage certificates
- change of name documents
- divorce proceedings.
If these documents need to be read and understood by those in receipt of them, they will have to be translated into the language of the recipient. No one would sign a document if he or she did not understand it. No employer would take on a new employee without citing the qualifications of the preferred applicant. A court would not accept an affidavit other than in the language of the court. An ex spouse would not sign a document necessary for a divorce unless he or she understood the content of the document.
No immigration authority would accept identity documents unless they were translated into an understood language. These days with more global movement of people for the purpose of vacation or work documents such as those issued for car rentals need to be written in a language that a renter can understand otherwise misunderstanding can take place. Accommodation rentals, whether for a hotel or apartment, usually require documents that need to be read and understood by the user.
Document translation is a sought after service for anyone who needs a document translated into a language which is not their own.
